Join us as we look at practical ways in which we can awaken spiritually. There will be some discussion and reflection on the theme with helpful suggestions for meditations and practices that can easily be incorporated into your daily life. Many of these are based on practices suggested by Steve Taylor in his inspiring book “The Adventure. A practical Guide to Spiritual Awakening”
All welcome!

Friday November 8th
8.00 – 9.30pm
with Katherine Winter
We will start with a gentle yoga sequence, using props to help support the body to relax, followed by a yoga nidra session. Yoga nidra (or yogic sleep) is a form of guided meditation where the yoga student rests in savasana (corpse pose) and is guided through a systematic relaxation by the teacher. Students enter a deeper state of conscious relaxation, moving their awareness from the external world to the internal mind. Research has shown that yoga nidra can help to reduce stress, anxiety and insomnia.
Katherine started yoga to help with severe anxiety and was diagnosed with ADHD and once started she realised she loved it and that it played a significant role in helping her to come more self-aware and happier. She qualified as a yoga teacher in 2019 with the 200 hour YTT course in Hatha Yoga in an ashram in Mysore followed by an advanced YTT course in 2022.
She has since been teaching yoga in schools and in a gym and she loves helping people to connect better with themselves as well as helping them to improve strength and flexibility.
