Yoga encourages movement through all the muscles and joints which keeps them healthy and flexible. I consider that yoga is one of the best forms of preventative medicine and together with a healthy diet a way of staying healthy well into old age. Dr Timothy McCall lists 117 health conditions that are helped by yoga as found in scientific studies as of June 2019.
Our yoga session builds on the previous session allowing us to extend the practice and stay a little longer in some of the postures. We aimed to move all the joints through their full range of movement in this session . Also I added a triangle pose and a Warrior II to the sequence from the previous week and focussed on using full yoga breath during the session. At the end our relaxation was a visualisation to strengthen our health and immunity which is particularly important at the present time.
